Peace, Justice, & Outreach

Southminster responds to God’s call to be peacemakers, as we serve alongside our mission partners in sharing God’s inclusive love in our community, nation, and world. We are committed to the work of gender and racial justice, ending hunger and poverty, and promoting peace.

Our congregation has longstanding relationships with organizations such as Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Mission Agency, and the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. Southminster is also proud to be a Matthew 25 congregation of the PC(USA), covenanting to do our part in the work of (1) eradicating systemic poverty; (2) dismantling structural racism; and (3) building congregational vitality.

Upcoming Peace, Justice, and Outreach Events

Upcoming Events (and an archive of recent events, too) are listed here. For more information, contact the church office or an elder on our Peace and Justice committee.

  • Grace Jordan Food Pantry
Southminster is a vital mission partner for the new community pantry at Grace Jordan Elementary School and during the first three months has already supplied more than nine (!) full grocery carts to the effort. Because local food banks are unable to assist the effort, virtually all pantry items have been sourced by our congregation. […]
