The “Conversations That Matter” adult education series throughout the fall was so well-received, we’ve extended topics into the winter too! Then, once the Season of Lent begins, we’ll transition to a time of Lenten study.
Below is the original “Conversations That Matter” announcement, as well as a schedule of Winter sessions.
Discussion about many of our world’s most complicated topics often struggle to move beyond the soundbites of the 24-hour news cycle. This year, our Adult Education hopes to deepen our understanding of social issues, and most importantly, to learn how to engage these topics as people of faith.
This study will meet on Sunday mornings after worship and fellowship (note: we do not meet on Sabbath weekends). While our conversations may build upon one another, those who can’t come weekly are still encouraged to come when they can!
Planned Schedule of Topics:
- Jan 21 – Boise Housing Issues (presented by Deanna Watson)
- Jan 28 – World Cruise (Panama Canal, Ring of Fire, migration across Pacific, International Date line, New Zealand/ islander religions/ Hobbits, Australian mammals )
- Feb 4 – World Cruise (SE Asia-cultural differences, Saigon, Singapore, Thailand, India, comparison of eastern religions, Petra, Suez Canal, Israel, Mediterranean)
