Longest Night Worship – 12/21 at 7pm

November 27, 2024 By SPC

For many of us, Christmas can be a bittersweet time of year, where joy and gratitude mixes with grief and loss. On this Winter Solstice—the night of longest darkness in our hemisphere—we’ll gather with some of our ecumenical friends on the Boise Bench for a quiet meditative worship service that makes time for remembering, sharing our hurting places with God, and preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ.

This service will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church (2920 Cassia St, Boise), with participation from All Saints Episcopal, Immanuel Lutheran, Redeemer Lutheran, Whitney United Methodist Church, and Southminster.

Pride Worship – Sept 14 at 5:00pm

September 2, 2024 By SPC

This month, our Sabbath weekend falls on the same weekend as Boise Pride. To celebrate with our LGBTQIA+ members and friends, our Sabbath Worship service for September will proclaim inclusive love for the world as we celebrate our diversity together.

Join us in the sanctuary at 5:00pm on Saturday evening for an uplifting PRIDE worship. Bonus: since we’ll have no worship on Sunday morning, it’s even easier to join our congregation’s group in the Pride Parade!

Come. Worship. Be Loved.

Holy Humor Worship – 4/13 at 5:00pm

April 1, 2024 By TJ Remaley

Are you ready for some corny jokes that will make your eyes roll? By popular request, we will again worship in the style of “Holy Humor” for our April Sabbath service, Saturday April 13. Our Saturday Night Alive worship service will include upbeat music, lots of laughter, and joyful community — all in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Plan to come dressed in your brightest colors and/or a silly costume. You’re encouraged to bring a joke or two in case you’re asked to make the congregation laugh.

Lenten Sermon Series

February 15, 2024 By SPC

For many, Lent has become a vain ritual where Christians give up small, often insignificant vices as they prepare to contemplate the passion and resurrection of Christ. But what if Lent was meant to be more radical and transformative than that? The fundamental call of Jesus to all who follow him is to sacrifice themselves and their lives for the good of their friends, neighbors, and even enemies. However, this call is more easily preached than practiced. In this Lenten sermon series, we will examine the tangible ways that Jesus demonstrated sacrificial living in his day and age, as well as the powerful, world-shaking ramifications his sacrificial life had on his society in his day.
