Communion at Southminster

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is the joyful feast of the people of God! There is no requirement to be a member to receive Communion at Southminster. All are welcome to Christ’s Table. We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of each month, as well as our Sabbath Weekend service on the second Saturday of the month.

If you are in-person, you will be invited to come forward to receive the Communion elements during the worship service. Those who are not able to come forward can remain in their pews, and a server will serve the elements at their seat.

If you are participating virtually you will need to:

  • Gather the elements: bread and cup. You can choose any piece of bread (or cracker). Pour a small cup of juice or wine (or water is fine too)
  • Set the table. Clear a space where you will celebrate the sacrament that gives you access to the device where you will stream the worship service. If you have a cross or another symbol of Christ’s love, you may choose to include that in your space or on your table.
  • The pastor will give you good instruction on when to serve the elements.
