Adult Ed. – Holy Land Tour

Paul Whitted will be leading discussions of video tours of the Holy Land of the Old Testament by Ray Vander Laan, who is a historian, archeologist and Bible teacher. Ray has always believed that to better understand and appreciate the Bible, you have to have a sense of the land and the culture from which it sprang.

For people who have not been to the Holy Lands, these lessons provide a way to see the places talked about in the Bible. For people who have already been to the Holy Lands, these lessons can provide additional information and
also allow them to share their impressions of this part of the world.

These classes meet weekly on Sundays after Coffee Hour in the Genesis Room. Please feel free to join us at any time!

Men’s Lunch – Twice Monthly

Southminster has an active group of men who meet twice monthly for lunch and fellowship together. The group orders off each restaurant’s menu and typically pays for their own meals.

Beginning in January, the group will be swapping locations:

2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30am — Casa Mexico, Fairview
4th Tuesday of each month at 11:30am — Life’s Kitchen

Christmas Worship & PJs – 12/25 at 9:30am

Christmas Day is on a Sunday this year?! Yes—we will still gather for worship! Join us for a casual, abbreviated worship service. We’ll take the opportunity to sing some favorite Christmas carols as we celebrate the gifts of Christmas. People of all ages are encouraged to don their Christmas pajamas for worship.

Those looking for some table fellowship on Christmas morning are invited to stay after worship for coffee and a light breakfast in the narthex.   

Christmas Eve Worship – 12/24 at 7:00pm

O Come, All Ye Faithful! Join us for Christmas Eve worship on Saturday December 24 at 7:00pm, as we hear the reading of the Christmas story alongside beloved Christmas carols. The service will conclude with a traditional service of candlelight. Join us and experience the joy and peace of this special night.

PWS Thoughts for December

The PWS (Presbyterian Women of Southminster) will once again be able to join together to enjoy sending cards to our staff and also preparing cookies for the staff at Grace Jordan. Perhaps a few cookies might make it to the mouths of our staff also. The card party and the preparation of cookies will take place before the December Gathering at 10:00am.

The Guest speaker at the Gathering will be our own dear Megan Remaley. We will be able to become more acquainted with her and what her job entails.

Remember on December 7 to come at 10:00 if you want to work on cards and arrange cookie plates or come at 11:00 for the business meeting.

Sabbath Weekends

Worship on the Second Saturday of the month is at 5:00pm. The next morning is a day of Sabbath rest, with no worship or activities.

Our Denomination

We are an active congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a member of the Snake River Presbytery.
