Please join the SPC family for an Easter Breakfast following worship on April 9th. We will meet in the fellowship hall to accommodate all who may attend. Please let us know what you would like to bring on the sign-up sheet in narthex. If you cannot bring anything, no problem—we still want you to join us to celebrate and socialize! Questions? Please contact Carla Middleton or Carol Town.
Upcoming SAGES Gatherings
We have two remaining SAGES Lunch and Learn gatherings in the winter/spring season. On March 30, 2023 (rescheduled from 3/16) we’ll have a catered lunch at 11:30am with a program to follow. Cathy McDougall, Director of Outreach for AARP Idaho will cover current scams, what makes people vulnerable to scams, and how a person can protect themselves. She will discuss how technology is opening doors to scams. Then, on May 18, 2023, we’ll gather for a catered lunch at 11:30am, followed by a special concert offered by our friends and neighbors from the Grace Jordan school choir.
Contact Roger Brown for questions and/or to RSVP.
Mexican Train Dominoes
On Thursdays at 1 PM there will be a group playing Mexican Train in the Narthex. Never played? No problem! Each week the group will meet for about two hours. On days where SAGES meets the group will play aft er SAGES is done. No need to sign up. Just drop by when you can! Call Carolyn Warner to learn more.
Chili, Soup, & Valentines’ Desserts – 2/11 at 6pm
It’s been several years since we have had our chili cookoff event. This year we will try a version of that by having a potluck of chili or other soups, salads, and Valentine desserts after Sabbath worship on Saturday, Feb 11, at 6 pm.
We plan to do this in the downstairs fellowship hall, so it will take more help than our usual coffee times upstairs. Please join us for this fun social time and sign up for either food donations or setting and cleaning up.
We hope for several people to bring their favorite chili or other soup variations to share, as well as salads or crudites to complete the main course. Desserts focused on Valentine theme are welcome to spread the love! Check the narthex
for sign-up sheets. Thank you for your help!
Brewed for Thought – 1/22
Brewed For Thought is back! You’re invited to attend the next “Brewed for Thought” gathering on Sunday January 22 at 6:00pm at Casa Mexico (10332 W Fairview Ave). The group will gather for dinner, drinks, and conversation around a theological or ethical topic. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Steve Bancroft or be in touch with the church office.
