Bread for the World Advocacy Summit

April 30, 2026 By SPC

You’re invited to join Southminster’s own Randy M. in Washington, D.C., June 9–10 for the Bread for the World 2026 Advocacy Summit. The summit brings together advocates from across the country for training, panel discussions, and face-to-face meetings with congressional offices, including Idaho’s delegation, which holds real influence over domestic and international hunger policy.

If you’ve ever wanted to connect your faith in a God who feeds the hungry with direct policy advocacy, this is a concrete way to do it. Hotel discount rates end May 8 — visit bread.org to register or learn more.

Jesus Was a Migrant Documentary – 4/26 at 11am

April 5, 2026 By SPC

Join us on Sunday April 26 during the Adult Education Class, as we show a new documentary, Jesus Was a Migrant. This 30 minute documentary was produced by bestselling author and historian Dr. Jemar Tisby, and follows him to the U.S.-Mexico border to examine what American Christianity has done for the migrant. The documentary helps us to ask the question “What does our faith actually require?”

Where: Southminster’s Jean Moore Lounge
When: Sunday April 26 at 11:00am

One Great Hour of Sharing Offering

February 23, 2026 By SPC

On Easter Sunday (April 5), we will collect the One Great Hour of Sharing offering, one of the three special mission offerings of the PC(USA). Joining with Presbyterians from all over the nation, OGHS supports hunger, disaster relief, and economic redevelopment efforts around the world. When we all do a little, it adds up to a lot!

(Reminder: beginning this year, there are only three denominational Special Offerings. While the Pentecost offering has been discontinued, we will continue to eagerly support the remaining three: OGHS, World Communion, and Christmas Joy.)

Important Update about the PC(USA) Special Offerings

January 27, 2026 By SPC

For 2026, the Presbyterian Church (USA) has moved to three churchwide special offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing; World Communion (formerly Peacemaking); and Christmas Joy.

The Pentecost Offering has been discontinued, though the ministries it had supported will now be supported by the remaining three offerings. Southminster will continue to be an eager participant in all three PC(USA) Special Offerings.

Weekly Prayer Vigils

January 27, 2026 By SPC

Every week that the Idaho Legislature is in session, we join our partners from Interfaith Justice Idaho (formerly Interfaith Equality Coalition) for silent prayer on the steps of the State Capitol. This group works to bring equality, justice, and dignity to all people in Idaho, particularly LGBTQIA+ people. Join us in strengthening our silent witness as we remind beloved friends and neighbors they don’t stand alone. Wednesdays from 12:00 to 12:30pm. Questions? See Pastor TJ.
