Grace Jordan Food Pantry

October 22, 2022 By TJ Remaley

Southminster is a vital mission partner for the new community pantry at Grace Jordan Elementary School and during the first three months has already supplied more than nine (!) full grocery carts to the effort. Because local food banks are unable to assist the effort, virtually all pantry items have been sourced by our congregation. Thanks be to God for this gift of abundance, and the continued prayerful support of members and friends at Southminster.

Below is a list of ongoing items that will be needed. A shopping cart is available in the Narthex/Lobby to collect goods throughout the month. We will also make a special request for items and monetary donations on Communion Sundays, the first Sunday of the month. (If people want to make a monetary donation please indicate on the check memo “Grace Jordan Food Pantry”)

PW Synod Gathering – Nov 12

October 15, 2022 By TJ Remaley

A free event for all Presbyterian Women groups in the Synod of the Pacific: How to talk about that elephant in the room (climate change, reproductive justice, immigrants, gun violence, domestic violence, suicide, racial violence—to name a few!) and featuring Music, Youth Voice, and Meeting Presbyterian Women from 5 States!!

We welcome Rev. Deanna Hollas as our speaker. As coordinator of the prevention of gun violence work with the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, she has spent much of her time having challenging conversations and believes you don’t need a trained facilitator or mediator to have a courageous conversation. With the right tools anyone can have courageous conversations. Rev. Hollas will share these tools with us so you can feel empowered to enter into the difficult, but necessary, conversations we need to be having in your church or home on a wide variety of topics.

PW Synod Autumn Gathering, via Zoom November 12 10:00am-1:00pm

Registration: Send your name, church, Presbytery and email to PWgathering@gmail.com.
