The next SAGES lunch and learn will be Thursday, January 18. Lunch will begin at 11:30am, with a program to follow. Pastor TJ will lead this month’s program, offering a look back at the church’s ministries in 2023 and a look forward to the ministries in the year ahead. All are welcome to attend! Please RSVP to Darleen and Roger Brown, Kathryn Nicholas, or the Church Office.
Handbell Concert – 12/10 at 2pm
Southminster Bells is eager to wish you a Joyful Christmas! Please join us in the sanctuary and online at 2pm Sunday, December 10th for our Christmas Program, during which we’ll ponder together a ghost story, a green-sleeved dress, proper damping techniques, ships of the desert, lullabies, and the questionable merits of figgy pudding.
A livestream of the concert is available by clicking here.

Upcoming Book Club Selections
To accommodate the lengthy hold list at the Boise Library, the Southminster Book Club is shuffling some of our upcoming books. Here’s a look at our next selections:
- Dec 7 – “Foster” by Clair Keegan
- Jan – (winter break – no book club)
- Feb 1 – “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus
- Mar 7 – “This Is Happiness” by Niall Williams
Our book club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm via Zoom. Join us from wherever you are!
Trunk or Treat – Oct 28 7:00pm
Join us for fun, food, and fellowship as we celebrate with our ever-popular annual Community Trunk or Treat. There will be plenty of trunks, plenty of treats, plus Food Trucks! Come one, come all!
Trunks will be available from 7:00pm until about 8:15pm (or whenever the treats run out!)
Are you a member of Southminster? Consider donating your trunk! Or, drop off some bags of candy or other individually-wrapped Halloween treats in the Halloween box found in the Narthex/lobby. Trunks must be set up by 6:30pm the evening of the event. (And yes… there will be prizes!)
Picnic Potluck – 9/17
We invite you to join your church family for a potluck picnic lunch in the Grove (weather permitting), following worship service at 11am Sunday, September 17th. Please bring your favorite picnic foods to share. We will have a couple tables set up in the grove from which to serve the food and drinks. Please bring your own plates and utensils to help us cut down on clean up.
Suggestions for foods—buckets of chicken, sandwiches, salads, baked beans, veggie platters, chips, dips, desserts or anything else you love!
This is a celebration of our new parking lot, the end of summer and back to school!
