Come join us at Pride!! Southminster Presbyterian Church has booth #83 near the intersection of 6th and Jefferson. We will be there Saturday, September 9 from 11:00 until 7:00pm and Sunday, September 10 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.

We will be celebrating the inclusiveness and abundance of God’s love to all. We will be giving away stickers and flags and buttons and pens. You will be invited to write and draw your thoughts, dreams, and prayers on our tablecloths.

Southminster will also be marching in the Parade on Sunday September 10,2023. Those planning to walk with us should meet at 8:30am near the Northeast side of 6th and Jefferson and we will walk to the line up area. The parade is from 9:30 am until 11:00.

Grace Jordan Elementary School will open for a new school year in mid-August and in preparation for this we are once again collecting food along with monetary donations! You’re invited to grab one of the “greatest needs” shopping lists (located in the Narthex near the shopping cart) or print out the list included below so you can pick up a few things for our neighbors during your next grocery shopping trip.

As an added spiritual practice, consider saying a silent prayer of gratitude for the ready availability of items on the shelves, and for the families who will receive them. We thank everyone for their support last year and we hope to be able to be just as generous this school year!

Are you ready to share God’s inclusive love with our community? Boise Pride will be September 8-10, 2023. Southminster will again host a booth on Saturday and Sunday, and also hope for a large turnout for the parade on Sunday morning. Want to help with planning? The end of the school year is upon us, so to prevent food from going unused on pantry shelves, we will not be accepting items for the Grace Jordan pantry from May-July. Food/toiletry donations will resume in August, so the pantry can be fully stocked and ready for the fall. We’ll continue to welcome financial contributions so we can get a jump start with pantry staples at the start of the new school year.

Thanks to the generosity of the Southminster congregation, 19 carts full of donated goods were delivered to Grace Jordan this school year, which is approximately 99% of all donations the pantry received. Because of you, families in need have had the food and supplies they’ve needed to survive. Thanks be to God for this display of hospitality and welcome.
