Every week that the Idaho Legislature is in session, we join our partners from the Interfaith Equality Coalition for silent prayer on the steps of the State Capitol. This group works to bring equality, justice, and dignity to all people in Idaho, particularly LGBTQIA+ people. Please join in when you can, on Wednesdays from 12:00-12:30pm (weather permitting). During worship on Sunday, November 19, we will be joined by Matthew Fast, the executive director of the Idaho Community Reinvestment Corporation. We will hear about exciting opportunities to partner with this local nonprofit organization that is doing interesting work with regards to the underhoused in Idaho.
This is also an excellent opportunity to meet Matt Fast, who has joined us in a significant project we called “Carpenter’s Gift” earlier in the year.
Who is the Idaho Community Reinvestment Corporation?
ICRC is a consortium of lenders and housing experts dedicated to maximizing the number of affordable housing projects in our communities. Through joint efforts and technical expertise, ICRC is able to work with traditional developers, smaller developers, and innovative new proposals.
About Matthew Fast, Executive Director
Matt has worked in affordable housing and economic development for more than 10 years. He holds an MBA in Sustainable Business from Pinchot University.

Come join us at Pride!! Southminster Presbyterian Church has booth #83 near the intersection of 6th and Jefferson. We will be there Saturday, September 9 from 11:00 until 7:00pm and Sunday, September 10 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.
We will be celebrating the inclusiveness and abundance of God’s love to all. We will be giving away stickers and flags and buttons and pens. You will be invited to write and draw your thoughts, dreams, and prayers on our tablecloths.
Southminster will also be marching in the Parade on Sunday September 10,2023. Those planning to walk with us should meet at 8:30am near the Northeast side of 6th and Jefferson and we will walk to the line up area. The parade is from 9:30 am until 11:00.

Grace Jordan Elementary School will open for a new school year in mid-August and in preparation for this we are once again collecting food along with monetary donations! You’re invited to grab one of the “greatest needs” shopping lists (located in the Narthex near the shopping cart) or print out the list included below so you can pick up a few things for our neighbors during your next grocery shopping trip.
As an added spiritual practice, consider saying a silent prayer of gratitude for the ready availability of items on the shelves, and for the families who will receive them. We thank everyone for their support last year and we hope to be able to be just as generous this school year!
