PW Spring Gathering – April 26

The Presbyterian Women of Southminster are excited to be host to the 2025 Spring Gathering of the Presbyterian Women of Boise Presbytery!

The theme will be centered around this year’s bible study and connected to Earth Day. The bible study is titled “Let Justice Roll Down: God’s Call to Care for Neighbors and All Creation.”

The date for the Spring Gathering is April 26 at 9:00 am here at Southminster. Worship will be led by Deanna Watson. Dena Duke will offer devotions. The keynote speaker will be Catherine Chertudi.

All women in the congregation (and the other congregations of Boise Presbytery) are graciously invited to this event. Southminsterians should RSVP to Mary Poston by April 20 if planning to join for lunch (suggested $10 donation). Childcare is available upon advance request.

Holy Week Worship

You are warmly invited to join us as we worship together this Holy Week.

Palm “Sunday” (Saturday April 12) — This year, the start of Holy Week falls on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Join us for Sabbath Weekend, as we celebrate Palm “Sunday.” We’ll take the next morning as a day of Sabbath rest, with no worship or other church activities.

Maundy Thursday (Thursday April 17) — Worship at Southminster at 7:00pm, with Rev. Dr. Andrew Kukla preaching. Our friends from FPC Boise will be partnering with us for this service.

Good Friday (Friday April 18) — Worship at First Presbyterian Church of Boise at 7:00pm, with Rev. TJ Remaley preaching. We are partnering with our friends at FPC Boise for this service.

Easter Vigil (Saturday April 19) — You are invited to join a number of Boise Bench congregations for an Ecumenical Easter Vigil service at All Saints Episcopal Church, at 6:30pm. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be a part of this worship gathering.

Easter Sunday (Sunday April 20) — Easter morning worship service at 9:30am!

Community Easter Egg Hunt – April 19 at 11:00am

Our friends and neighbors in the Boise’s South Bench are invited to a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 19, 2025 at 11:00am. Children of every age are invited to participate.

 This year, the Easter Bunny will also be hopping by around 10:45am for a visit and some photos.

We hope the weather will allow us to hide eggs in Southminster’s “Grove,” which is a grassy and tree-lined area between our church parking lot and Grace Jordan Elementary. Bring your basket (extra bags will be available).

Discover Southminster – April 10 at 7pm

Pastor TJ will be hosting a “Discover Southminster” gathering on Thursday April 10 at 7:00pm in the narthex. Those who have been visiting Southminster or who are thinking about joining our membership will find this to be a great opportunity to explore our questions and callings together. Chili & Soup Feed – 3/8 after Worship

It’s that perfect time of year to whip up a batch of homemade soup or chili and show off your amazing culinary skills! That’s right, it’s time for our Chili and Soup Feed, Saturday, March 8th around 6:15pm, following Sabbath Service.

Sign-up sheets have been placed in the Narthex for people to sign up to bring soup, chili, sides, and even desserts. We are also looking for people that are interested in helping with set up and clean up.
