It’s that time of year again when you have the opportunity to show off your amazing culinary skills. That’s right, it’s time for the Annual Chili and Soup Feed, Saturday, March 9th, following Sabbath Service. Sign-up sheets have been placed in the Narthex for people to sign up to bring soup, chili, sides, and even deserts. We are also looking for people that are interested in helping with set up and clean up. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to anyone on the Connections Committee, Carla, Juno, Sue, Kathryn, Carol, or Brenda.
One Great Hour of Sharing Offering
On Easter Sunday, March 31, we will collect the One Great Hour of Sharing offering, one of the four special mission offerings of the PC(USA). Those who took a “Gracie” fish bank home with them are asked to return their bank by Easter morning. You can also participate in the offering by looking for a OGHS offering envelope or writing a check to Southminster with “OGHS” in the memo line.
One Great Hour of Sharing is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year, and supports Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and the Self-Development of People initiative.
Lenten Introspections – An Adult Ed Study
During the Season of Lent, the Adult Education study will be Lenten Introspections. This study will utilize readings from our Lenten Devotional (“Local Pilgrim” by the Presbyterian Outlook) as a jumping off point for our reflections. Participants are encouraged to use the daily devotionals as a spiritual practice, and to read the day’s article prior to gathering for the class.

Enneagram Workshop (March 8-9, 2024)
Certified International Enneagram consultant and coach Sandra Smith, M.Div., is coming to Boise, March 8-9, 2024, for a 1.5 day workshop entitled Deepening Self and Other Awareness Using the Enneagram as Guide. Southminster is one of the sponsors for this exciting event!
During this workshop, participants will:
- engage in presence practices
- explore their three centers of intelligence
- learn the inner components of each Enneagram type
- and receive type-specific spiritual practices for growth beyond limiting patterns.
Participants need not know their type to participate. Using a narrative style of teaching and learning, the panels of the types offer a dynamic learning method that brings aliveness and heart to the workshop!
Before February 14, the cost of $139 includes tuition, handouts and a light Saturday lunch. After this date, the cost is $169.
Facilitator: Sandra Smith, M.Div., teaches the Enneagram internationally as a tool for personal, professional and spiritual growth, using the Enneagram as a map in staff communication and managerial styles for businesses, non-profit organizations, and faith communities. Sandra leads beginning and advanced Enneagram classes, pairing the Enneagram with the spiritual journey. She facilitates type groups and offers individual sessions as an Enneagram consultant and spiritual companion. Learn more about her work at AlchemyWorksEvents.com.
